Wax is a slang term for hand job, predominantly used in the UK and Australia, but it can also be used to refer to masturbation as well. If someone is ‘waxing it,’ they are usually jacking themselves off, or giving someone else a hand job. The receiver of this hand job is said to have been “waxed,” like a golf club, pool cue, or any other phallic object that one waxes.
The term actually originates from shoe-shine boys during the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain. These young lads would roam the streets with a makeshift shoe shining kit, which always included a hefty jar of shoe shining polish. Usually orphans, these young boys would stay on the streets and in local markets from sun up to sun down, looking for older rich men to pay them 25 cents per shoe, for a good polishing. At some point, one particular boy was offered 25 dollars for a ‘special’ shoe shining, which was essentially a hand job in a back alley, much to the excitement of the orphan boy, who hadn’t seen that kind of money ever. One thing led to another, and before long, those little orphan shoe shiners became hand job prostitutes, roaming the streets looking for rich men who needed a good ‘wax.’ This was the term used to distinguish between a client who wanted an actual shoeshine polishing, and a client who wanted a hand job. If client wanted a hand job, they would ask the child for a “wax,” which cost anywhere between 25-40 dollars.
Waxing was an extremely profitable business for young boys between the ages of 5 and 12, but like most forms of prostitution, the older the worker gets, the less money they make. Generally, most pedophile businessmen had no interest in a young man, so they often ignored any boy that looked older than 10. In order to compete in such a cutthroat and lucrative business, older orphans started a new product to sell, known as “washing.” If a client wanted a little more than just the same old hand job, they could ask an older orphan boy for a “washing,” which was the code word for a blow job. Before long, the older orphans were outselling the younger ones, charging 75 dollars per wash, and an extra 25 dollars if the client wanted a “wash & scrub,” which was a blow job and a ball cupping at the same time. It is not at all surprising that the wash started to become more popular than the wax. Every male in the world, if given the option, would choose a blow job over a hand job.
Over time, many young homeless children made so much money they were able to bring themselves off the streets. In fact, most of those ‘rags to riches’ stories you hear about on Oprah and Maury, where little boys begged for change or sold fruit on the street for years until they could afford to get educated, are actually lies. Most, if not all of them, were waxers and washers.
