Vulva is a word used to describe the external female genitals, including the labia minora and majora, the clitoris, and the Latin-friendly ‘mons pubus.’ In laymen terms, the Vulva basically refers to the entire package; all of the female parts beneath the panties. Now, Vulva is not a socially acceptable word in most conversations. Rarely would a woman ever want to hear you say, “Oh Baby, I can’t wait to taste your Vulva….” or “I’m going to fuck your Vulva so hard!” Keep in mind, Vulva is a very technical, medical term, that should not be used at the bar, in bed, or during flirtations or dirty talk.
The word originates from a Latin word that roughly means “to roll” or “wrapper.” Apparently, the way those words came to mean a woman’s vagina are related to sexual intercourse. Back then, there was very little distinction between a female’s pussy, and the rest of her genitalia, so the term Latin word for wrapper came to represent the entire thing, because the man’s penis was wrapped by her ‘sheath.’ The Latin word meaning ‘to roll’ is accurate because during this time period, sexual intercourse was often performed on a linen or hand woven fabric known as ‘a roll.’
