Nymphomaniac is a commonly used term, often in the negative form, for a woman who has the urge to have sex quite frequently. Of course, most men would never even dream of using this term in a derogatory manner. If anything, men tend to speak in hushed tones with drooling mouths when anyone mentions a local nymphomaniac. They are legends. Dreams. Things no man will ever truly experience, unless perhaps they work in a woman’s prison, or sell ecstasy or MDMA for a living.
Now, it’s a curious thing, that the word Nymphomaniac could become such a negative term. Dating back to Victorian ages, women were considered the only ones who could possible have nymphomania, and they were often treated in mental institutions. Considered a mental illness much like schizophrenia or depression, nymphomania was reportedly treated with anything from cold baths and cauterization, to sedatives and female circumcision. Not surprisingly, the end of the Victorian period had some interesting sexual statistics. Apparently, women had no sex at all, ever, anywhere, and the men in Victorian England only had sex with other men, or their Clydesdale horses.
Fortunately, modern society has learned from the evil idiocy of Victorian men, and now there is a large sector of the population that praise and admire these Nymphos, putting them on a pedestal much like the Gods of Greek myths from which they came. In order to illustrate the differences in attitudes towards nymphomania, one merely has to look at the reported causes of Nymphomania from each time period. In Victorian England, experts believed that if a woman ate rich food, consumed too much chocolate, read a novel, spoke out of turn, or masturbated, they would inevitably turn into a Nympho. Thus, women at that time tried to avoid these activities as much as possible. Today, however, women actively strive to engage in behaviour that is reported to cause Nymphomania. Reported causes of Nymphomania today include masturbating (in public, particularly while allowing others to watch), drinking excessively, taking ecstasy or cocaine, smoking pot, flirting, making out with their hot girlfriends at bars while guys watch, or wearing really slutty outfits to the bar and not getting mad when men grab their ass and make rude comments.
Today, most Nymphomaniacs frequent strip clubs, college bars, dorm rooms, and frat houses. The older Nymphs can usually be found prowling bowling alleys and blue-collar pubs, or on the rare occasion, they can also be found in frat houses and college bars, but generally get picked up well before last call.
Thankfully for all men around the world, there is not even one single known cure for Nymphomania. They’ve studied plants, medicine, and methods from China to America, but didn’t find a shred of evidence to suggest a cure. Anyone who claims to have found one is a complete liar.
