Impotence: This term is used to describe a number of conditions affecting male reproductive health. It sometimes used as a synonym for erectile dysfunction or used to indicate a lower than normal sex drive. Generally it refers to a medical condition in which a man’s semen becomes sterile, i.e. containing no viable sperm, so that he can no longer get a woman pregnant.
This kind of impotence may have any number of medical causes from aging to malfunctioning or damaged testicles, but in the case of men who have had a vasectomy because they don’t want any more children, it is the desired result.
