It was also the name of a rock and roll supergroup from the 60s featuring Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Jack Bruce, best known for songs like “White Room” and “Sunshine of Your Love.” The band wanted to name themselves “Semen,” but their record label talked them out of it, suggesting they call themselves “Sweet and Sour and Rock ‘n’ Roll” instead, and while that more or less describes the taste of some people’s jizz, the band just wasn’t satisfied with that name, either. In the end, they crossed “Spunk,” “Spooge,” and “Nut Juice” off the list before finally settling on “Cream.”
