Competing this year against Jenna Jameson and Tabitha Stevens, Savanna Samson scores “The Lifetime Skinchievement Award” while out promoting her new porno-horror flick “The Devil in Miss Jones: The Resurrection”.

“This is about the eternal battle between good and evil.” Says Savanna. “I play the glamorous and sophisticated publisher Pandora Phoenix, who also happens to be an agent of the Devil. She is truly nasty in every way and, of course, my character is wildly sexy and very serious about corrupting anyone within her reach, which makes her almost impossible to resist.”

The renowned original from 1973, “The Devil in Miss Jones” told the story of a thirty-something spinster who kills herself because she feels her life is empty. Faced with an eternity in Hell and confronted by the Devil, she is given the opportunity to live one more day and she chooses it to be a day consumed, engulfed and impassioned by lust. Well, wouldn’t you??

Other cast members in the new movie include Penny Flame (guess she changed her mind after getting out of Celebrity Rehab / Sober House), Carmella Bing, Rebeca Linares, Victoria Sin, Evan Stone (which I shouldn’t even have to mention since he’s in EVERYTHING), Nick Manning (ditto), Steven St. Croix, Tom Byron and Kurt Lockwood.

It is available in high definition, Blu-ray in a two-disc set that includes both behind-the-scenes footage and a bonus scene starring Jenna Jameson as the Devil and Savanna as Miss Jones.

Following in a very interesting trend, after Deep Throat and Neu Wave Hookers’ “re-imagining / reboots,” this is a great addition to Vivid’s unbeatable library of filth and fun.

This “Caligula,” making broad exceptions as to distance itself as far away from the ‘Penthouse Films’ movie as possible, will star Joli as Caesonia, wife of Caligula, and portray the infamous last night of the manic Roman emperor’s life, resulting in his assassination at the hands of his own senate.

Apparently Joli’s been living in New York and working as a burlesque dancer at the performance venue “The Box.” Her dancing is what lead the production heads to invite her to audition where she originally tried out for the role as Drusilla, Caligula’s sister. Ultimately she was brought back and thankfully given the role that required the most nudity. A definite win win for the audience and performer (she says she is admittedly more comfortable in the nude).

The play is going to run from March 12th to April 3rd, and I couldn’t be more upset that this isn’t happening here on the west coast. I am a huge fan of, not only the Bob Guccione produced film, but of Roman History as well. The story of Caligula is one wrought with sin, disease, debaucherous perversities and, ultimately, betrayal. Adding a personal favorite, Justine Joli to the mix is just mean and cruel. To see this in a live theater would be a phenomenal experience, me thinks.

In case you’re wondering if Joli is the first porn star to cross-over her way into live theater, the answer would sadly be, no. Savanna Samson beat her to it and is also a very determined thespian.
