At least, on the Internet it is. Symantec has just released its Internet Security Threat Report which outlines all of the major threats, hacks, and related statistics for the past year. And, well, it turns out those religious followers have been very naughty boys and girls. Either that, or they have no idea how to keep their sites clean.

According to the report, the average number of security threats on a religious site was 115, while a porn site only carried around 25 threats on average. On top of this, only 2.4 percent of adult sites carried infections compared to 20 percent of blogs. This placed pornographic sites as the 10th most frequently exploited type of website. Yes, that’s dead last on Symantec’s list.

Symantec even spelled it out themselves in their report: “religious and ideological sites were found to have triple the average number of threats per infected site than adult/pornographic sites. We hypothesize that this is because pornographic website owners already make money from the Internet and, as a result, have a vested interest in keeping their sites malware-free–it’s not good for repeat business.”

Of course, we also think this could have something to do with that study that showed that atheists score more IQ points than religious people–clearly enough IQ points to consider a little malware prevention.

Here’s to religious people and their ability to make the Internet worse…on multiple levels! Let’s all look at porn instead.

We’ve all worked somewhere that limits what we do and what we see on the computer during normal business hours. I don’t have that problem here at Orgasm.com but my Mom, who works for a major financial institution, has to forward all the YouTube clips I send her during the day to her home computer. That’s a drag. How can you keep up with our fast paced world when you can’t even access kittens playing pianos on Google?

Well now we’re finding out that government officials like to watch porn at work (SHOCK!)

California Rep. Darrell Issa, the top Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said it was “disturbing that high-ranking officials within the SEC were spending more time looking at porn than taking action to help stave off the events that put our nation’s economy on the brink of collapse.”

On the other hand, maybe looking at porn keeps a lot of them in line and prevents the eventual mistress or sex scandal that our country, and political system, always seems to be riddled with? If one is going to project, and project they have, that porn is a proven crime deterrent, as one such study suggests, couldn’t the same also be said about infidelity?

The SHOCKING news continues:

* A senior attorney at the SEC’s Washington headquarters spent up to eight hours a day looking at and downloading pornography. When he ran out of hard drive space, he burned the files to CDs or DVDs, which he kept in boxes around his office. He agreed to resign, an earlier watchdog report said.
* An accountant was blocked more than 16,000 times in a month from visiting websites classified as “Sex” or “Pornography.” Yet he still managed to amass a collection of “very graphic” material on his hard drive by using Google images to bypass the SEC’s internal filter, according to an earlier report from the inspector general. The accountant refused to testify in his defense, and received a 14-day suspension.
* Seventeen of the employees were “at a senior level,” earning salaries of up to $222,418.
* The number of cases jumped from two in 2007 to 16 in 2008. The cracks in the financial system emerged in mid-2007 and spread into full-blown panic by the fall of 2008.

All this really says to me is that men, and possibly women, working as government officials for country and state differ very little from you and I. Before I worked in porn I perused on occasion and would be lying if I didn’t admit that stuff had been found on my hard drive once, for which I was reprimanded. Now, I have always been a stellar employee to each and every employer. My resume is overflowing with instances of climbing through positions like a rabid zombie gnaws its way through a nursery school (sorry my ADD kicked in). Did I stop? No I did not. I became more creative.

About 16 percent of men with Internet access at work admit to looking at online porn while at the office, according to a 2006 survey by Websense Inc.

Gentlemen of the SEC, Wall Street, FDA, Charlie Sheen, and ladies if it applies; first of all always know that the best porn on the internet can be found at Orgasm.com. It’s quick. It’s easy. It’s free. And the name is unforgettable. Secondly, LEARN HOW TO CLEAR YOUR BROWSER HISTORY. It’s really very simple. Forget downloading, it creates too much of a paper trail. Hit our site, read my blog, keep your job.

Former SEC spokesman Michael Robinson said he shares the public’s outrage about SEC staffers who enjoyed porn on the taxpayer dime when they were supposed to be keeping the markets safe. “That kind of behavior is just intolerable and atrocious.”

Yeah I’d like to get a peek at his hard drive.
