We are all interested, sometimes fear, what we don’t understand. That interest can lead to great cultures coming together, the mixing of ideas; fear will lead to war, prejudice and stereotypes. But during both the attempt to understand or in the trying to quell fear groups often jump to quick conclusions about one another, too quickly sometimes to dispel half-truths that are too steadfastly created.

From our politics to our porn stereotypes can form and long-lasting assumptions can be made.

Asian adults can be as much misled by what they perceive the west is about, as can white guys simply assuming every Asian girl will be a quiet lotus blossom-like slave to her man. As we come to regard people in life we will create them in our art and from paintings to literature to the dirty movies we make the stereotypes the creator carries fall into his or her creation.

But do Asian adults have as many stereotypes of Caucasian guys and girls as Caucasian guys and girls have of them? Is a Japanese guy watching American- produced porn hoping to get his fill of blonde-haired porn actresses with big tits because that is what he expects, what his stereotypes have led him to believe just have to be present in American porn? Or are Americans the only one’s living with these stereotypes firmly planted in their brains and because Americans-and white heterosexual American men-make a good percentage of the porn does it reflect their sensibilities more often than not?

Whatever the real answer-if it could even really ever be determined-no matter what ethnic group you are associated with you will probably always hold at least a passing interest in people that you do not come into contact with often. Asian adults living far away from the western hemisphere will most likely hold some interest in the west, how much of same determined by individual taste, as much as whether you are a Caucasian guy with a penchant for Bukkake porn or simply a passing interest in the Ti-Chi.
